Oh goodness I have yet another book that so deserves a good review like right now, but alas I will have to postpone it. But for those of you who are fans of Percy Jackson do pick it up. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

I read this back in the late summer of 2022. I really enjoy all of Rick Riordan's books, and this was no different. It takes things in a slightly different but complementary direction from the original Percy Jackson series, although there are many characters from the previous series. They also expand the ongoing storyline beautifully.
I'm a sucker/nerd for mythology, so I can't help but get a kick out of all the mythology references. Many I picked up on, but others made me want to look them up. ...more

Much better than "The Red Pyramid," but not quite up to par with the best Percy Jackson books. "The Lost Hero" is an exciting return to Greek (and now Roman) mythology. Unlike "The Red Pyramid," this book features a cohesive, unconvoluted storyline and characters you can actually care about. Riordan remarkably ties in the new storyline quite well with the other Percy Jackson books. So much so, in fact, that you probably shouldn't read this series without having read Percy Jackson.
