While reading, I had flashes of the Matthews family as close to the Ingalls family in the series "Little House on the Prairie." A tribe with a powerful patriarch, although in this novel it's rather an older brother who plays the alpha male.
A family with deep connections, sometimes a little out as refractory to the use of technologies, but very respectful of the rules and dynamics of the clan.

A little retro or Amish in a way of living rather refreshing. For once, we see a novel wherer family ties

This book is a great read! Sophie is 19 and a werewolf. Her pack family has been living in secret from the humans, but what happens when she falls in love with one? Why are there suddenly humans being murdered near their home in the national forest? There is also a male werewolf who is vying for Sophie’s attention and perhaps more suitable for her, according to her family and their laws.
Will the family remain intact, or be torn apart? Can she follow her heart or her family’s wishes? Will the hum

I loved this book I love all thing paranormal. The fact that this was a family that functioned as a wolf pack would, is great it is so different from some of the other warewolf stories out there. The story line is really good too, I wish there were more wolf scenes in there and that Sophie had more depth, we don't really know her as a person/wolf we know things about her but we don't have those little details that maker her seem like Sophie and not just a character in a book. I really enjoyed th ...more

It's the story of a young shifter, Sophie, finding her way in life. I loved how Ms. Grey created her world around this family so that they fit into the modern world. Still the dangers are real should they be discovered. From the very beginning you're caught in Sophie's POV and you remain there through the story. You feel her excitement with the hunt, her worries for her family and her desires for a human.

It's a great story and I highly recommend it!
