It took me no time at all to sink into Rebecca Elswick's story, 'Mama's Shoes'. Once there, I could hardly bear to pull myself back into my own, everyday life as I was so beguiled by the story of Sassy and Sylvia,her mother; Madge and the other characters inhabiting the fascinating world of the Cut and Curl Beauty Shop,and the wider world of Coal Valley.
