The book had it's moments but over all I didn't care for it. Also, there was a good deal of the book (maybe a third or more--or it could have been less & just seemed that long) where H/h were apart. Reading about Tara and her eunuch slave (Olav) hanging out in the Middle East didn't really hold my interest although I did like his character & felt sorry for him as he had a miserable life after being made a slave. And in defense of Tara she did not think of him as a slave but as a friend & treated
