When I started this, I wasn't really in the mood for a sci-fi novel about a kid (boy :p) But after a week of pick-ups I finally got into it, and I could not stop till I finished. This will be one of my all time favorite books, but the gem of the series was Speaker for the Dead

Everybody told me I needed to read this book. "One of the best books I've ever read", "My all time favorite", etc. etc. I tried to read it about 3 years back, but couldn't get into it. But with the movie coming out I finally picked it up again.

So shoot me. I wasn't as in love with this as everyone else. I think people built it up so much it was destined to be a let down for me. It happens. Still a good read over all. Kind of depressing. I will say I was impressed that it was written in the 70's as I think it still holds up well.

I didn't like it NEAR as much as I liked Speaker for the Dead or Ender's Shadow, but it was good :)
