This was the second John Green book I have read. The first was Paper Towns, which I really enjoyed reading, but left me kind of flat at the end. I also didn't care for the relationship of the main characters in that book.
Neither of those things can be said of this novel. This was probably one of the most touching relationships I have read in a young adult story. Believable. Heartfelt.
And, yes, at one point I was saddened to tears. It's not a cheerful book. But it is moving and thoughtful and (f ...more

I received TFiOS a few weeks ago, when it first came out, and promptly dropped everything to read it. I LOVE John Green--I am an avid Vlogbrothers fan and I adore his previous works. I had a slight problem in the beginning of the book, because I couldn't help reading it in his voice, but that stopped about halfway through. Still, it was weird.
I loved this book but that isn't to say I didn't find some things a bit... off. Sometimes the prose was sparse where it shouldn't have been or Green's over ...more

So sad but so good. This was a sad book it was about young adults with cancer, all kinds of cancer that meet in a support group. The three main characters have three different forms of cancer with three different predicted outcomes. The two boys are friends and the female is in support groups with one of the boys. His friend comes to group one day and meets he girl... love story ensues. It is a sweet and sad story. I makes you think one thing and then throws a wrench in that and moves on. There

So I decided to let this one sit for a few days before even attempting to write a review. After letting it sit, I have to admit I'm even more at a loss of what to write than I was before.
I've only read one other John Green book, the absolutely fantastic Will Grayson, Will Grayson. That book was so fabulous that I had very high expectations. And I have to say that I instantly fell in love with the characters. From the title and the plot themes, Romeo and Juliet immediately popped into my head. I ...more

This book was so sweet and sad and wonderful! It's not my favorite work by John Green, but it is one of my favorite books I've ever read. I loved it so much I made my boyfriend read it. Definitely a great read for anyone, no matter gender or age.

John Green's writing makes it hard for me to get through his books. All I want to do is read and re-read his sentences. Loved this book.
