This book is creeptastic (that's creepy and fantastic). First off, the cover is amazing, and when you open the book up to the title page it looks like you are leaving fingerprints on it, so that's pretty brilliant. As for the story itself, it's really well done. There are a ton of twists and turns and just when you think you know what's up something else happens that makes you second guess yourself.

Shelves: ya, horror, mystery

The premise to this story was interesting to me, and most of the book was written in first person from Jazz's point of view. Getting into the mind of a teen who can't figure out if he's a psychopath like his dad or not, how he knows too much about manipulating folks and umpteen ways to kill people was both fascinating and frightening.

Jazz is in high-school. He has a girlfriend and a best friend. That's where the normal(ness) of his life ends because he is 'raising/caring for his grandmother, absolutely out of touch with his feelings on whether or not he might be a killer and oh yeah- the son of the world's most nefarious killer.Jazz must help the police to figure out who is killing people just like his dear old dad did before the numbers continue to escalate.

I ended up really liking this one. It was very different from other books I have read - I can't quite recall ever reading a story about the son of a serial killer. While Jazz could get quite melodramatic at times I really couldn't blame him - I mean his dad showed him how to kill and dismember people while growing up! I liked Jazz's girlfriend and his best friend Howie a lot as well as the Sheriff/Police Chief. I rarely find good YA mysteries and love mysteries in general so I was happy to find ...more

I loved this book. Excellent thriller status and very suspenseful. Its like a good movie where you are taken by surprise at the ending. This young man who is the main character "Jazz" is a likable character, which makes this book work. Sort of Dexteriss. Don't want to add any more details. You've got to read the book.
