But in all seriousness: I loved this book. I was engrossed from beginning to end––the story, the characters, the writing ... It just really came alive for me and I know it's a book I won't forget.

June's world is forever changed after her beloved uncle Finn dies from AIDS. As she tries to grapple with Finn's death, she forges a tentative friendship with his "special friend" Toby and her relationship with her sister grows more contentious.

I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked this book. Even though parts of it seemed utterly unbelievable on one level, it was utterly believable. The burgeoning friendship between June and Toby is really sweet. My heart goes out to June's sister Gr ...more

This book was recommended to me by a member of a book club. It was a completely different book than I expected. A bit controversial, but who doesn’t need that every once in awhile. I am glad I read this but I would be careful as to who I recommend it to.
