Though, to paraphrase, I loved this book and it made me mad and you need to immediately go purchase a copy. I'll wait.

I expected powerful, but didn't expect such gorgeous prose, making this one excellent on multiple fronts. Important, and incredibly well told. ...more

Thanks to the publisher for a complimentary hardcover - wow!

I don't think the plot really matched the description given on the flap, but that's okay because this book is so much more than the suspense novel it portrays itself to be. It's a gritty indictment of rape culture and a society that disbelieves the experiences of girls and women. This wasn't an easy book to read, but the tone only amplifies the importance of the message.

This was a hard read - it was good and important and I recommend it - but it is hard read. But sometime important books ARE hard ones to read.

This is a little tricky for me to review - it was about the 3rd or 4th YA rape book I'd read in a row, and was getting frustrated with the self-loathing, victim-blaming, etc., Then once again I became aware of the burdens placed upon rape victims through the amazing activism of college-age victims & their supporters. Guess I should just learn to pace myself with this kind of YA lit. ...more
