Amy Goodnight would rather not be called a witch. She is at her Aunts Texas ranch to take of the goats, not ghosts, for the summer. She is the rational one of the family. But circumstances change, and Amy is forced to deal with a super creepy ghost haunting, a guy who can't figure out if she would rather hug or strangle,an old mystery with some equally old bones, and a sister who just can't even pretend to normal in any circumstance.

Part super creepy ghost ghost story (um, hello, don't read late

Amy heads to TX to babysit her aunt's ranch and who should she meet on one of the first days there - while in her underwear? Adorable, but cranky ranching neighbor Ben. There's wisecracks about her toy car (a blue Mini), goats in trees, and it's the beginning of one of my favorite books of recent years. Fun paranormal read by a local Texas author. I hope she writes more books with these characters. Love the Goodnight clan.

An absolutely fun & fantastic read. It's light enough to be read for fun, but it's also worth 15 Accelerated Reader points. The combination of a girl trying to come to grips with living in the real world while also coming from a family of psychics & witches and the mystery element with a ghost & an irritatingly appealing sceptical rancher makes a great tale of coming into your own with romantic bonus! Great chick lit with a delightfully creepy feel. ...more

The title of this book says it all. Texas - ranches, cowboys, old mines, diesel trucks. Gothic - ghosts, mystery, murder, romance, buried bones. Add in a college age cutie in the throes of denial regarding her family's paranormal talent and her Gidget-like Ghost hunting sister and you have a fun and creepy book perfect for late-night reading. I honestly hope to see more of Amy Goodnight and her sister Phin. The romance element was good - not perfect, but intriguing enough that I would like to re ...more

Definitely an homage to Nancy Drew - and possibly Scoobie Doo. Fun read.
