Shelves: ya, fantasy
Perfectly good fantasy/historical type book. Nothing special, but for the genre fan, a good addition. The world was somewhat European and mentioned Christ and familiar religious ideas, but it was unclear if it was a specific country.

I'd be more than happy to give this to a teen, but I wouldn't booktalk it with excitement to a huge crowd.

Molly has the ability to see what is going to happen to the royal family by peering into a beautiful silver bowl. While this seems like a good thing, she keeps it to herself, fearful of being branded a witch. Strong, fully-fleshed-out characters, abundant plot twists, and entertaining dialog make this a standout in fantasy titles. Fans of lElla Enchanted and Hale's Princess Academy will love being introduced to Stanley's titles. ...more
