Aria lives in a domed, protected world, safe from an outside environment with deadly aether storms. On lark, she and her equally frivolous friends venture into a forbidden dome, run into trouble, and she is banished from her safe existence into the outside. Peregrine, Perry, has never known anything but the hardscrabble fight for survival that is the outside. He also has special abilities unknown in the pods - he can smell people's emotions, both a blessing and a curse. Inevitably, they meet and ...more

2.5 stars. This wasn't bad, it just wasn't that great. Pure has a similar-ish plot, and I was much more engaged in that story than this one. The romance was not compelling, the character evolutions too rapid, and the writing often clumsy. But it was an entertaining way to pass the time during jury duty.

(The blue cover is fine. What the heck is up with the pink cover?)
