The best intro to Haskell that I've seen - easy to understand, fun to read.
The main drawback - not so many practical examples, but this could be improved by reading Real World Haskell: Code You Can Believe In after this book... ...more

I keep wonder why people think monads are hard thanks to this book. It explain every concept by implementing them so you can see how they work and only then it shows you how to use the standard implementations. Some jokes are not funny though 😅

Nonetheless the book is showing its age and some things don't work out of the box on the latest versions of GCH so I guess you should be looking at Get Programming with Haskell instead? ...more
