This was an unusual book in that I really didn't like the first half of it very much, but thought it was a great book by the end. That's because the main character is just TOO idiotic and annoying during his great adventure, and the real story only begins when he arrives at his destination, which really is almost halfway through the book.

WELL. Granted I really want to give this book a four but it's going to take the ADVOCACY five I give it and like it.
This is not necessarily a book for you. This is the book you give to that special little boy who has the stage in his heart. It's the kinder, funnier Chorus Line. It's the Mixed up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler but a smidge more mo.
