What Members Thought
Even compared to his other children's fantasy novels, this one is rather dark, with many casualties and an ending that is not of the typical "happily ever after" variety.
In fact, I had trouble believing in the main character's whole thought process by the end of the book. Either his experiences have driven him quite insane, or he was that way in the first place. But I digress.
