What Members Thought
This is a tough book to categorize, because the author was being deliberately cute about what genre it belongs in. Like some of the John Bellairs books, it is a mystery with elements of fantasy. Unlike his, the fantasy elements kind of sneak up on you when you're not looking, and gradually become part of the story. In fact, it's partly a story about stories, since part of the tale is told AS stories by the characters, over the course of the book.
