When I started reading this book, I felt a kinship between Circus Mirandus and the Night Circus. Both books - though different - touched me in a similar way. Beautiful writing, beautifully magical.

I admit it. This book got to me. I rarely give a book five stars, but this one was just so good that not only could I not put it down, but I recommended it to another reader at the first opportunity to do so. THAT is the sign of an excellent book.
So, what made it amazing?
First, the book was not all sweetness and light. There were bad things and sad things, but all interwoven with goodness and magic.

I loved this book.
Sometimes you hear a lot of hype about a book, and then the book doesn't really live up to it. I was worried that would happen with Circus Mirandus, but I need not have feared.
So good. You know those books that you just want to hand to people after you finished reading it, because it was so good and you want others to experience it as well? This is one of those books.
