While some of the writing style and content doesn't work for grownups, I think that kids of the age of the characters in the book will more easily fall into the story. My only problem with it is that at that same age, I would have considered Dwight to be just too annoying. Some of his craziness makes sense, in a crazy way, but other parts are just a little too self-serving and annoying, like the class clown stuff [eating the chalk when sent to the blackboard to do a problem] and the unfunny joke ...more

It seems like a cute concept but I found it hard to keep the characters separate in my head, except for Dwight. I think it has some charms and if you're age appropriate I would recommend it. ...more

I started this back at the end of the summer, but so many kids wanted to read my copy that I didn't get to finish it until now. I can certainly see why it was so popular. Origami Yoda is a great next step for fans of Diary of A Wimpy Kid or Big Nate. This is fun book about a boy who is kind of unusual and not particularly aware who creates an Origami Yoda puppet that he wears on his finger and then Yoda dispenses advice.
