After accidentally seeing a giant outside her window, young orphan Sophie is carried off to the land of giants, and caught up in a wild and crazy story involving the dietary habits of giants, the British Air Force, and a number of other things that wouldn't seem to mix well, but do.
Much to my surprise, this has just become my favorite Roald Dahl book. I think the reason is that this has less of the dark cynicism of some of his other works.

It had been a while since I'd read the BFG and I really enjoyed revisiting it. I love how the BFG talks, especially, and it's just charming and fun, a wonderful read-aloud.
