Loved this!
When we were talking about reading this for book group, one of the other librarians said she had kids who come in the library and hug this book because they love it so much.
I can see why. It's charming and wonderful!

Young Minli lives in a dreary place, one where she and her family just barely get by. Her mother is unhappy with their life, but her father loves to tell stories to Minli, and those get Minli to thinking and dreaming.

Grace Lin takes the Chinese folktales from her childhood and crafts magical tales of her own. All of the stories within the story deftly add layers and are connected to each other, like the red thread that connects the characters to their destinies. It was a pleasure to follow Minli on this delightful journey. Where the Mountain Meets the Moon has the qualities of a classic, timeless story.
