This is a very well-written little book on a low point in American history and justice. Rumors, hysteria and greed combined to deprive people of life and property. Families were ruined, and the truly guilty parties never received any form of punishment.
I have read other works on the Witch Trials, but this one still had tidbits I had missed in other books, including the most wicked sheriff this side of Nottingham.

It is been a long time since I have read anything on the Salem Witch Trials and this small volume written by Rosalyn Schanzer was well done, informative, very interesting to read, and loved the block print illustrations. Highly recommend this one.

An interesting literary nonfiction look at the Salem Witch Trials.
I learned a lot from this book (there were men witches?), but I found it hard to keep the cast of characters straight.
I also really liked the way she connects the mass hysteria of what happened into the past as a possibility that could occur again today.
