As I was reading this book my mind kept coming up with tiny quibbles, but almost all of them were resolved by the end of the book. A couple, however, created odd red herrings that kept me from giving the book a fifth star. One had to do with the principal's apology at the end. Any reader who assumed that the principal was competent was led down the wrong logic path earlier in the story. Also, I never felt that Ralston's long absence was explained. I only partly understood Sophie's sudden trouble
