What Members Thought

After years in Slow Food, I feel like these kinds of books shouldn't surprise and shock me any more. After all, I have no illusions about the healthiness or integrity of our industrial food system. And yet, a great writer like Michael Pollan, who's able to bring serious research and science communications skills to bear on a complicated subject, can make it all seem new again. This polemic is at its best when breaking down the history of how things got the way they are - particularly in its care

I enjoyed this much more than I expected. While I haven't made any actual changes to my diet, it did make me think about it and probably nudged me towards cooking a little more and feeling more positive about organic foods.
