08/11/2022: Reread on audiobook!
I never posted a review for this the first time I read it but after rereading it again I definitely have thoughts. This series is so captivating. Thinking about how everything falls into place at the end of this (almost) final book of the series makes me so giddy inside. This series was executed so perfectly. One of the things that I love most about this series is the clever way the author implements the different fairytale retelling aspects in the series. Cinder

The quote, "don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened" came to mind while reading this book because though saying good-bye to this series and its characters made me sad, I am so glad that I read this series. This was a truly stellar ending and I loved how everything ended up playing out and the fact that everyone got their happily ever after. But that happily ever after wasn't without a few tense moments and Meyer definitely made her characters work very hard for it and that just ma ...more

Great end of a great series, but it is quite long, though a quick 800 page read. All the loose ends were tied up as far as I could remember, but battle was gruesome. I'm not a huge fan of retellings, but Ms. Meyer does an excellent job, and this story was an action-packed delight.

* Cinder/Selene and Kai
* Scarlet and Wolf
* Cress and Capt. Carson Thorne
* Winter and Jacin

OMG I loved this book. This might be my favorite book in the whole series. Marissa Meyers did not let us down in the ending of this series. I couldn't wait to see what would happen in the next chapter. I'm so happy to see the book and all the characters ended up but I'm sad it's all over with.

Of course I love Cinder and Kai and their story was so up and down. First Cinder kidnaps Kai and then he marries Queen Lavana which is upsetting. Scarlet and Winter face all kinds of dilemma's and so do th

The lunar chronicles wrap up with our heroes struggling to defeat the cruel Queen Levana.

We learn the story of Winter, the Queen's step-daughter and Jacin, her childhood best friend and protector. Winter has stopped using her gift and is suffering from hallucinations due to lunar sickness, and Jacin is doing his best to be there for her but also keep his distance, knowing that she's a princess but he's only a palace guard.

There are a lot of things happening and we see all four couples, in vario

Strong finish, but when all the couples were put together, the relationships (and even the characters) started to feel pretty similar.
