08/11/2022: Reread on audiobook!
I never posted a review for this the first time I read it but after rereading it again I definitely have thoughts. This series is so captivating. Thinking about how everything falls into place at the end of this (almost) final book of the series makes me so giddy inside. This series was executed so perfectly. One of the things that I love most about this series is the clever way the author implements the different fairytale retelling aspects in the series. Cinder ...more

The quote, "don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened" came to mind while reading this book because though saying good-bye to this series and its characters made me sad, I am so glad that I read this series. This was a truly stellar ending and I loved how everything ended up playing out and the fact that everyone got their happily ever after. Great end of a great series, but it is quite long, though a quick 800 page read. All the loose ends were tied up as far as I could remember, but battle was gruesome. I'm not a huge fan of retellings, but Ms. Meyer does an excellent job, and this story was an action-packed delight.

OMG I loved this book. This might be my favorite book in the whole series. Marissa Meyers did not let us down in the ending of this series. I couldn't wait to see what would happen in the next chapter. I'm so happy to see the book and all the characters ended up but I'm sad it's all over with.
