Dichotomy Girl
Original Review 5/16/14:
3.5 Stars

These books leave me so confused! This book was like a cross of an early Sookie Stackhouse and an early (But Lighter) Anita Blake. And whereas I enjoyed both of those, it's NOT what I've come to expect from Jacqueline Carey.

UTC TOP PICK!

AUTUMN BONES is another unexpected ride, full of ups and downs and a lot more twists than I thought I could handle. I was unprepared by how much I enjoyed this sequel. I am quickly becoming addicted to anything and everything Daisy related. She’s one of my favorite heroines this past year!

Ok, so I won't lie...I'm sick and tired of hearing about Daisy's creepy tail. Oh and in this book, we get a description of it! It's several inches long with blond hair that stands on end much like the hair on the back of your neck when you're alarmed.

Gross, right?

All I can think about is a rat tail with some hair on it. Seriously...go Google a picture of a hairy rat tail. Actually, don't...who knows what you might end up seeing.

I like the world and the ideas behind it, that certain areas have a functioning underworld and so supernatural (eldrich) species are drawn to it. Here Norse goddess Hel rules the underworld and Daisy is her liaison to the mundane community. I like the way it's out in the open and there's even a tourist bureau looking to boost the town economy by publicizing it. That's so different from so ma ...more

Very good. I like Daisy, especially how she makes mistakes and isnt all-powerful but can kick ass when needed. Love triangle was a bit ugh but overall a good read.
