I love a great paranormal romance series that has steamy romances, amazing world building, fascinating cast of characters and a sense of humor. The Love at Stake series has all that in spades and apparently Crouching Tiger, Forbidden Vampire is the last book in the series, for now.
Of course, because this is one of my fave series and since we don't know when or even if we are getting more novels in the series, I went into this newest installment with very high expectations.

An evil vampire put Russell in a coma for decades, slowly turning him into a vampire. When the marine finally wakes up, times have changed, and women do as they please. Particularly, the tiger were princess he finds himself falling for.
Thoughts on the Series
These are formulaic books for sure. But the humor and the romance make them great for light reading. I pick one up every so often and have an entertaining time.

I was hesitant to pick this up, partly because it's the final book in the series and partly because I wasn't sure the end would do the series justice. I'm glad I finally sat down to read it though. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series, at 16 books it has kept my interest, some I enjoyed more than others though. I loved the end, the little reminder of where it all started and a summation of were we are now. Looking forward to reading something new from Kerrelyn.
