I was slightly disappointed with how it ended, mostly because the characters pretty much finished the story where they began, there was no visible change or growth. I hoped that Eli would become the new Shepherd or it would be revealed that he was the Creator all this time or something, that there would be some huge twist that would explain why this series was called "The Legend of Eli Monpress" specifically. This series is a tightly-plotted delight. Over the course of five books, Rachel Aaron guided us from a fun opening caper to a desperate struggle to save not just a beloved group, but the entire world.

I absolutely loved this book. It was the perfect conclusion to this series, which was filled with strong characters that only improved as the series continued. My favorite part is the fact that every hero in the book is so loyal and such a strong person that you can never doubt that they will set out to accomplish whatever they need. Eli, Josef and Nico are such strong friends that completely exemplify the idea of unconditional love. It isn't a romantic love, but deep abiding faith in each other
