This was a very good magic novella. Unfortunately it just ended, could've used another couple of pages to round it out more fully.
Lyssa has been told all her life that she is a null, a non-magical person born into a warden magical family. Hawk is desperate for a warden when he meets Lyssa as they can heal and provide sanctuary from demons etc, and he is already injured from a battle he has just fought.

Wish this was a series intro. Really felt like it. The ending was a bit abrupt, but I do enjoy Mina's writing.

I enjoy Mina Carter's books, and find that she often writes some really good, really steamy paranormal or scifi romance. This one is no exception, and Carter does a really good job in creating a world with believable paranormals. Her magic system seems to be pretty sweet, too. This one's got some great action, both in the sheets and out of it. The ending, however, was too rushed.
