It isn't that I didn't enjoy it, but ... I feel like every book is about breaking Kara down, and come on, we're 7 books in, when are we going to start to build up?
Also, we've been hovering on the edge of a big overall plot reveal for several books now, and at some point, the continued tease with no real info becomes tedious.
That coupled with almost no Szerain, Zack or Mzatal in this book made it somewhat meh. ...more

Another dense & interesting action packed story.
Plenty of problems for Kara who is back in the real world. A blurry picture of Kara at the scene of the plantation murder & a witness who 'saw' her leaving with the murderer (Bryce).
Also Katashi, is hell bent on opening a permanent gate on Earth and interfering with the nodes to achieve it.
Can Kara's posse stop him/them & keep her out of jail?
