When I first opened this book, I had to put it down. I hate flashbacks. It is just a thing I have. This book opens on a huge flashback. It needs to be there to set up all restrictions on our lovers but not my favorite thing.

I had read Liam Takes Manhattan (because I am bad like that) so I did know the big spoiler of the book but there are many surprises along the way.

The love story is sweet. The world great and the action adventure fun with some cool characters from the story stories making an

This book ended up being better than I hoped although now I remember why it took me so long to read it. I really, REALLY, didn't like how the author approached the Liam situation. Given how long these people live, this plot point didn't make sense to me at all and it's in fact, a bit icky. And it robbed real good growth for Dragos and Pia as parents as they didn't get to experience the day to day of parenthood. Hopefully it will be different for the new one.

This story had a real wor

I was happy to see Graydon get his HEA after waiting so long - 200 years, damn. For me, the best parts of this installment were: the pair's initial "meeting" and subsequent deal, the battle (sad, but intense) and Liam's pronouncement.

Now, I'm even more anxious to read Liam Takes Manhattan. With each book he's in, it's becoming very clear that he's going to be a serious force to be reckoned with and it's interesting to see how both Pia and Dragos are dealing with their unique child. I was so imp

I loved the romance between Beluviel and Graydon. It really stood the test of time.

So glad to see a certain Jinn get his comeuppance. He deserved it. Added bonus, we got to see all the other couples who came before that we've come to know and love.

Now I'm wondering if there will be more because, Liam. But not only that there are so many characters that I would love to see get a happily ever after.

Graydon’s and Beluviel’s story has been brewing for quite a while and it is nice to have some closure and understanding on their story. While I’m a little fuzzy on how the two gained such a quick connection, the pair still works. They bond over impossible odds and fight for their future over a 200-year time span. While Gray and Bel found their happily ever after, there were some unexpected losses. Overall this is a great installment in the Elder Races series and I’m looking forward to any new bo ...more
