Charley's adventures continue and although she's heavily pregnant, she's still as crazy and reckless as ever.
Stuck in a convent while waiting for the birth of her daughter, she's starting to go a bit stir crazy. Thankfully, she's got Cookie's upcoming wedding to occupy her a little, when she's not snooping around trying to figure out what her weary and mysterious husband is up to, uncover her true identity and deal with a ghost or two.

First off I have to give props to Charley that even in her current condition she is still determined to do her job.
Secondly, this series is just getting better, more twists and turns.
Thirdly , a lot is happening in this book and I mean a lot. (view spoiler) Especially in the last quarter of it things are going down....and it's just the start. What's going to happen to Charley!!!

One of my favourite paranormal fun series I love reading is the Charley Davidson series, where she is a kick ass Grim Reaper type who reminds me alot of Stephanie Plum. She survived thank goodness but we said goodbye to Charley's dad - Mr. Davidson. Now Eight months later, Charley and Reyes have been living on sacred ground in an ol

This book. Man.
Sometimes when I start a series, I love the first book only to find out it was a sort of...fluke. Something I liked from the first book is overused in future books, the plot becomes formulaic, or the story proves forgettable.
This was not the case with Darynda Jones' wonderful, funny, and impossible series. I grew to respect this series more with every book. So many things that could go wrong in this book go right due to Jones' humor and skill.

3.5
This one was much better than the 7th installment, but the pacing was very slow and not much happened until the end. Not sure how I feel about the new direction of the series but I'm definitely intrigued. ...more
