This was a tough one for me. How Dax and his tribe do their bride hunt - the fact that they take the women against their wills...in all ways. The author says it's cultural and you see Circe accept it and still fall in love with Dax. And he does change...but it was still something in the back of my mind that he did. And I'm curious to learn what happens to parallel universe Circe. ...more

I love Circe. Love her to bits. I was g0ing to give up 0n the first chapter, I have issues with rapists, rape as is, and falling in love with 0ne. So after all that she went through, I just have to love her courage, strength, and will to m0ve 0n. I admire K.A.s talent to create such a her0ine and to start a plot, which s0me people (ehem, like me) would find repugnant, like she did and turn it ar0und to s0mething..acceptable. Okay at the start of this book I will say I thought Lahn was a complete and total a##&¥)e. But as Circe began to accept her new world and he started to try and understand her I began to love him. While he is a bit of an ass at times a lot of times he is very caring and trying to work (in his own way) with Circe. It was a really good book, while it shows 5 stars it's more of an 4.5 for me. ...more
