After a full year of reading the urban fantasy series "Elemental Assassin," about Gin Blanco, the soft-hearted, tough-exterior contract killer who can dice up a dozen hitmen as quick as she can make a gourmet cheesecake, I have come to adore Gin and her rag-tag band of family and friends, human, dwarves, vampires, you name it. Shelves: fantasy-contemporary, series, fantasy, zz-gone

I thought it was pretty good, but a lot like the last few. I'm not positive that I will go on, since she seems to have the same exact problem every book.

I was shocked when I read that her mentor died a year ago, it seems like it should have been 5 years ago. Think of all that has happened in the 11 books. And it all happened in less than a year.... ...more

It took me two tries to get through this book, which hurts me deeply. This was one of my all time favourite series and I just struggled with it. I think, in part, because we eventually came to the conclusion of the Mab storyline, it took lots of blood, sweat and tears to get there and it felt like it started all over again with M. Don't get me wrong once I got passed the first 30% of the book it did pick up and I liked it ok. I will continue with the series, I'm just not as desperate for the nex ...more
