This was written like it's the end of the series and I'm so upset by that I want to cry. I love this series I hate trilogies. They aren't quite enough.
Anyway, this book was so good, I didn't even take notes. There was plenty of action, suspense, thrills and chills, drama, peril, and so forth. I didn't get a hospital scene, but no book is perfect. ;) The two MCs had a big fight in the middle that I though was really well done, complete with a lull in the middle where they're talking and distracte ...more

This was a pleasant story, wrapping up plot threads from the first book. I liked that Merrick found love too. This introduced Jonah who gets his own story (and that promises to be interesting). Looking forward to Crane and Stephen as side characters in his since they have some unfinished business.

Read for the August 2016 m/m challenge. I'm very sad that this is the last book in this series. There is a novella left, which I do plan to read, and a spin-off story as well. This was a definite surprise to me, as I'm REALLY not the horror movie person. But this series was pretty much filled with horror and morbid moments. However, that is the back drop to the relationship of Lord Crane and Stephan Day and it was a great balance. I thank my friend ttg for recommending this to me!

2024 Reread: Just glorious. Magnificent ending to the series, and a very satisfying one.
2022 Along the years, I have re read these books an almost embarrassing number of times. I would recommend this series to absolutely every body.
I'm so going to miss these two.
I would love to follow their adventures in China, but I feel their story arc was completed and the author is wise in stopping here.

5 stars - This may be my favourite of the 3 novels... only thing I didn't like was the fact that it ended!!
Without wanting to spoil anything, I really really appreciate it when an author *allows* their characters to argue/have conflict.... without it resulting in a major fall out or break-up. That's just how real life is and, as a reader, a good argument is glorious reading.

Adore this series!
I cannot say enough good things about this series. Lucien and Stephen are so hot together, but they are also quite sweet. This story had it all -- action, mystery and hot sex. I cannot wait for the next story.
