This book was a bit of a disappointment. After such a cute first book, I was hoping for more character and plot development but it seems clear to me that the author didn't have a plan in place when she started the series. This book seemed directionless and instead of a big mystery, we got tons of little plots (at least 7 or 8) that were solved too quickly and amounted to nothing. Definitely not what you would expect of a "mystery".

Such an adorable change of pace from what I have been reading. Lucy is a wonderful leading lady. The story is interesting, with a crazy stalker, a few lost loves, a missing persons case with the police department, and Sean. Lucy and Sean have some intense sexual chemistry :) We see Em, and Marisol and go on a few stake outs trying to find evidence that Em's fiance is a no good cheating loser...

3.5* rounded up for GR.
This didn't have the spark of book 1 for me. I still enjoyed it, but it didn't hold me attention like the first book did. Lucy decided to admit her feelings and fight for what she wanted (that was nice). I do think the Curse only has power if one believes in it (and I'm interested if my theory proves to be correct). The Handmaiden letters, Leo, and Sarah mysteries (threatening letters and 2 missing persons cases), were done well and resolved (nicely) by the end of the book ...more
