I feel like every time a Suzanne Wright book comes out I jump on it! All of her books are an absolute must read! Though her last few Phoenix Pack/Mercury Pack books have just been okay for me. But I did still enjoy it to some extent. Now this was Trick's book. Now Trick wants to find his mate. Actually he is a little impatient and seeing almost all his pack members finding their mates is really making him wish he could find his.

Now his mate, Frankie was actually someone he used to know. She was

The story of Frankie, a wolf shifter who grew up with her human grandparents after her parents' death, and Trick, the Phoenix Pack enforcer who used to be in the same pack as Frankie when they were children.

Trick is eager to find his mate and the moment he meets Frankie again he knows she's the one, but recognizes that she'll need more than a little time to come to terms with the truth, so he just starts pursuing her and helping her acclimate to being part of a pack again.

Frankie finds out that

Frankie Newman & Trick Hardy

Is it me or are these books getting more emotional with each book?

Trick is the only wolf I've met who is so ready to meet his mate. Yes, most shifters are ready to meet their mates, but none has been exactly like Trick.

I liked some of the different elements of this one - the mystery of her past, working out the truth, etc.

But like all of these books, there are lots of elements that are repetitive. Not least of which is the insistence that the pretty lady not worry her head, and let the men-folk handle the trouble (so condescending), only to have it all be a trick to separate the men from the women and attack them while they are alone.

It's too bad, because it makes a fun book feel a bit more superficial than it

Frankie, sculptor, half wolf shifter is raised by her human grandparents & uncle after her parents are tragically killed when she is 3. There is bad blood from the humans, so Frankie doesn't know her shifter relatives at all. Until her Aunt Lydia calls asking her to meet her other Grandmother who is dying.

Trick, an Enforcer from the Phoenix Pack, loves that he has finally found his mate but knows that she will need time to come to terms with it as she doesn't know pack ways & is reeling from the

This was an enjoyable read, sadly it did not blow me away to rate it higher.

Same formula as all the other books in the series
