What Members Thought
Not a super huge Wizard of Oz fan, but I do like fairy tale retellings. This has enough of originality to stand well on it's own and familiarity that fans of Oz would also like it. This was funny, but also dragged in parts.
I think I would have liked this much more had I actually liked Dorothea. She is so spoiled and it took a long time (I thought) for her to get over herself. She is much better by the end. Kato and Rexi were enjoyable characters. I also liked the pop culture references. ...more

Probably the best fairy tale retelling I've read.
Dorthea is a Princess of Emerald and can't leave the castle due to a curse on the line that says one Princess will set the world on fire. As you can image, there is nothing she wants more than to see the outside, so when things go badly during a ball, she makes a wish that turns the whole world upside down and has to run for her life with her "betrothed" whom she just met and was turned into some sort of young animal and her maid.
