This is the second book in the series and some things are known to us from the first one, especially considering "The Tradition" and champions.

There are enough original ideas in the story mixed with well known tropes to make it interesting, but I find that my feelings about the book are mostly neutral.

Andromeda is a bit too naive and meek for my taste and consciously avoids dealing with, or even thinking about her problems, which is something I dislike, especially in main characters.
