The twist in this book is that Anita Blake isn't just a Vampire Executioner, but also an Animator (someone who can raise and put to rest the dead = zombies). I would classify the Anita Blake books as Erotic Horror. There are Vampires, Werewolves 🐺 and other were animals (both good and bad), as well as legal Zombie raising for the purpose of asking questions of the dead (wills, criminal witnesses, etc). The whole Vampire Series is a little frivalous, but there it makes me happy. It has some really great characters and an interesting plot line. Although, it generally is a girlie book, it is still pretty interesting. i really enjoy the series.
