True friends don't let their pals read bad books. In this I have failed. To prevent letting down any others, I shall say that this book was heaps and heaps of meh, with a side of lukewarm disappointment. As CJ (that friend I failed) said in her review:

I read this with high hopes only to be slapped in the face with the wake up call that this book is like that c+ student you can't help but you know that he/she has potential so you agonize on how to help them.

I'm not sure what to think about this. The book has sitting on my shelves for ever, so I buckled down and decided to finally read it.
I don't know if it was the content or the fact that the Kindle text to speech can put anyone to sleep. But the book was just ok. It wasn't all that bad. I just couldn't get get into it that much to be excited to want to run home to read.

I finally got a copy of this shipped in from another library only to realise on the first page that I had already read it quite a while ago - the book i read had a completely different cover to the one here and on the other editions listed at goodreads - probably an older Australian market specific cover.
Anyway I know I enjoyed it, a good sense of humor and just entertaining.

I don't know. It was an enjoyable read but I feel like it was missing something. Everything just felt too easy. I love a HEA as much as the next person but it just felt empty to me.
I'll probably give the next one a try but I'm not eager to read it anytime soon. ...more
