This 4-star rating belongs only to 'Here There Be Monsters' (the Iron Duke prequel) which was simply outstanding. Amazing world building, great plot focusing almost exclusively in the hero and heroine (which were a great couple), lots of sexual tension and an interesting conflict. Kudos to Ms. Brooks for packing all this seamlessly in 110 pgs. Now I'm really looking forward to The Iron Duke.

As always, Nalini Singh's story was amazing... Unfortunately, the Angela Knight story wasn't really up my alley, although I have enjoyed her work in the past. My favorite part of this anthology, however, was finding 2 new-to-me authors to read far more work from in the very near future - Virginia Kantra and Meljean Brook. ...more

I read this one mainly for Meljean Brook's entry, since it's the prequel of sorts to her new Iron Duke series. I skimmed the others to see if I'd be interested and frankly nothing held my attention. So I'm not really going to comment other than to say they're not for me.
Brook's short story on the other hand was genuinely fun read. I can tell the steampunk world she's created is interesting and I want to hear more about the hordes and the Black Guard. Ivy and Eben are great, relatable characters. ...more

If you're a fan of the Psy/Changeling series, you'll want to read this novella. It shows how Ria, Lucas' assistant, and Emmett, her husband, met and fell in love. Very good!
