Needlessly complex writing and a complicated world, made this a difficult book to get into. The fact that the heroine's got a giant chip on her shoulder didn't help much and neither did her ignorance or her clinging to the conclusions she'd jumped to without really examining the facts first.

The world structure and quite a few of the characters are interesting, but I couldn't really bring myself to care about the mystery or the missions or even the plot in general. The narrator might have had som
