Enjoyed this first book of series going on to next in series. Slightly different concept sure there is more to come regarding Charlie and her brother.
Nice urban fantasy with a bit of mystery to it. Interesting world, and some characters I'd like to get to know, particularly Hank, Rex and Carreg. Emma is also pretty cool for a kid. Interactions between Bryn and Charlie are a bit odd, but overall a good read.

I really enjoyed this book. Charlie was a strong character with a great supporting cast around her. It was also a nice change that she was a single mother. I was sadden by the death of a certain character but the twist that comes out of it seems like it will be an interesting one. I will definitely pick up the rest of this series.
A unique world and an intense heroine that's damaged and trying to cope. Some similarities with other kick-ass heroines exist but the story's wholesome enough that it manages not being tiring.
The next book of the series should be interesting, dealing with Charlie's new life and seeing how she learns to manage it. ...more
