I get the impression enforcers are chosen for their brawn and bravado rather than their brains...
When I read The Immortal Hunter, Eshe's brief appearance sparked my interest. She was forceful, confident and, as a rare female enforcer, she was someone I wanted to learn more about.
So I was eager to get started when I realised Born to Bite concentrated on Eshe's investigation into the "accidental" deaths of Nicholas' and Armand's wives. I'm pleased to get closure on that front, but the stor ...more

I won the book from goodreads. The story of Eshe d'Aureus enforcer sent to investigate the suspicious deaths linked around hotty Armand. She is a spicy, witty, sensitive. Armund is one super hotty trying to open up but the typical male hero that takes some encouragement. One of my favorite lines from Eshe to Armund when explaining how to work through his pain of loss. "you're still inside the fishbowl looking out rather than standing beside it looking in." Sweet story of a couple working togethe

It took 358 pages to explain how all of Armand's wives died?
I felt like I was reading in circles while they were trying to figure out who dunnit when I had figured it out from the get go.
I know for the next book, I won't be as quick to pick it up and read as I was for this book. The killers were a bit flat. They're reasons for killing seemed a bit ridiculous after hearing them. Especially the second killed. His excuse was just flat out childish.

Another fun Argeneau/Rogue Hunter story - this one picks up the cliffhanger left at the end of Nicholas' story in the previous book. Namely, this book focuses on Nicholas' father, Armand, and the hunter sent to find out why three wives and one daughter-in-law have all died in "accidents". I enjoyed the story and liked the slight twist to the mystery - I was sure I knew whodunnit and was pleasantly surprised to discover that I was close but not quite correct.

What do you do on a lazy Saturday? Read on and off all day. :D Another good Argeneau vampire romance. I really like Eshe. She's everything I'd like to be strong, smart and very positive. And it was a good mystery! This tied up a lot of loose ends in the last two books. Now Nicholas is cleared and Armand is free to be with his family again. It's great they both have life mates to spend it with.
