I've been told I'm a wee bit notorious for spoiling myself. No, not with expensive baubles; I'm as stingy as the winter night is long. The accusation is that I have a bad habit of thinking too far ahead, thereby making it very hard to truly surprise me.
So when handed a series most readers admit is filled with clue-by-fours, I look to the characters to inspire delight and devotion...

A good read, wrapping up Rose's story and giving answers to questions left unanswered from the last book. A couple of things were predictable and although I usually enjoy Rose's bravado and jump-first-look-later attitude, she kind of acted like a brat at times, having to have her way or else. Her thoughtlessness was annoying at times, too, as was her not seeing the best solutions even when they were staring her in the face. I agree with Adrian's last speech...

A challenge (SOS Bingo) put me in the position of finally finishing the Vampire Academy series, more to cross it off the list than anything else as it took me quite some time to warm to Rose and company.
Last Sacrifice picks up where Spirit Bound ends, Rose is imprisoned awaiting trial, Dimitri is a figure of suspicion and her friends and family are working frantically to free them both. On the run with Sydney, the pair are frustrated by their exile so Rose decides to investigate the note slippe ...more

Wow, thrilling end to one of my favorite series. It's so nice to have Dimitri back from Strigoi-land. Almost all of the loose ends were tied up and Rose was typically Rose. I can't say much more without giving away spoilers, now onto Bloodlines.
Likes:
* Alchemist, Sydney Hale
* Abe, Rose's shifty mafia father, Ibrahim Mazur
* Lissa, Christian and Adrian's Rose-less investigations

Rose annoyed me a lot in this book and I'm glad her life as a main character seems to be over. My beef with her is by no means limited to just her treatment of Adrian amd her unsophisticated interpersonal relations, though those do play a major part! I'm not that fond of Dimitri either, though he as least has some awareness. I quite liked the direction the universe is going (I read Bloodlines first, don't do that as it spoils this book quire heavily) and will continue reading.

Loved the book, loved the series. Love this author. I am so glad there will be more. Richelle has agreed to write a short story about Rose and Dimitri and then she has also begun a new series that takes off on the Alchemists and Sidney. Can't wait.
