I'm not sure why, but, I could not get into this book at all...It sisn't draw me in like "Hush, Hush" did from page one...IDK...I will try to come back to this book at a later date or maybe just listen to the audio book for it...Just not feeling it right now...(sighes)

Ok,so I came back to this book last night on a whim...I had been out most of the evening and when I came home, I had one more load of laundry to I'm not sure why, but, I could not get into this book at all...It sisn't draw me in like "Hush, Hush" did from page one...IDK...I will try to come back to this book at a later date or maybe just listen to the audio book for it...Just not feeling it right now...(sighes)

Ok,so I came back to this book last night on a whim...I had been out most of the evening and when I came home, I had one more load of laundry to finish so I figured I could read a little bit more of this book after almost a month of putting this down and see if my perspective about it would change...And boy am I so glad I did....I started from where I had left off which was pg.23 and that was at 11 pm last night...I finished the book by 2 am and I am not usually a fast reader at all if you follow my status reports and progress reading...I was about to pass out..lol..But, I had to finish it...There was no way I was waiting until the next day to continue it...

And it was so frustratingly, nerve-rackingly awesome:)(...I mean I loved the whole concept of the nephilim and fallen angels from the first book "Hush, Hush," I'm into studying angels, guardian angels and all of that good stuff so anything that's a good story involving angels I've gotta read it...As I said in my previous update I wasn't feeling it when I started it, but, it was really so awesome...

Patch really pissed me off through out the entire book...I mean I understood where he was coming from in the beginning when he said he couldn't allow himself to fall in love with Nora because he was her appointed guardian angel and to some extent I respected that, but, once that damn Marcie (that's a whole other review just about her) came into the picture again and he was fooling around with her, etc...I was throughly pissed off, I MEAN WHAT IS THIS...PATCH SLEEPS WITH EVERY SUBJECT HE'S SUPPOSED TO PROTECT?....Especially after Nora had told him that she loved him...wth? Pissed me off royally...

I like that the author delved further into the backstory of what happened to Nora's father and how he was killed, and also finding out so many more surprises about Nora's mom and "the black hand," etc... Rixon being the killer:o Crazy!!! I was reading feverishly to getto the end and find out if Patch and Nora were going to stay apart or what...I mean really is this supposedly piss me off like romeo and juliet or something? Ahhhh...then by the end Ptach comes around and it seems like there throwing caution to the wind and going for it 100% finally and my heart melted when he told he finally that he loved her...I was like OMG he said it screaming like an idiot at 2 am. Until, I read the very last sentence and they took him away...I was completely done...The ending throughly pissed me off...What an awful cliff hanger to leave us with until the next installment..I can't remember if this is meant to be a trilogy or just a series that continues as long as the author feels that it has too...Now I get to be pissed about ths until a year from now when the next installment comes out...Oy...so frustrating.

So my friends end verdict...If you read "Hush, Hush," and liked it you will be both intrigued and frustrated deeply by this sequel...But, it's definately one of those books that once you fall into it it not going to let you go even after the last word is spoken on the very last page...I would recommend it to those who don't mind getting frustrated by the content and loved the first book...Also, for those who love book about angels both good and bad...Also, may I say that the sexiness in the book was hot for a ya novel...I mean she still kept it PG-13, but, compared to other YA books that I have read this one was pretty racy for the age group...I would absolutely love for Mrs. Fitxpatrick to come out with a paranormal romance adult book...Because if this is her PG-13, I would love to see rated R:) So happy I finshed the book and gave it another shot:) ...more

Loved it, but too much angst in the Nora-Patch relationship was upsetting:-) At least we saw Patch in the book, lol (unlike Edward in New Moon!)... And the ending... man! do they ever get a break???? 4.5*

After reading the first book in this series, Hush, Hush, I couldn't wait to get back to my dark and unpredictable Patch. So yesterday I sat down with this book expecting an engaging YA read.

And that's exactly what I got. I read this book just like it's predecessor in one sitting. In this instalment Patch and Nora go through a hard time. The archangels are interfering and making it almost impossible for them to be together. So yesterday I sat down with this book expecting an engaging YA read.

And that's exactly what I got. I read this book just like it's predecessor in one sitting. In this instalment Patch and Nora go through a hard time. The archangels are interfering and making it almost impossible for them to be together. We also learn more about the mysterious death of Nora's father and the war between the fallen angels and Nephelim.

This is a rather dark book for a young-adult novel. For the greatest part it focusses on Nora's relationship with Patch, and the problems between them. Nora can't seem to make up her mind if she wants to stay with him or if she wants him completely gone out of her life. Some people might find this struggle annoying, but I thought it was a spot-on display of trying to chose what's good for you while you know in your heart you want something else. At one point or another we all feel like Nora. Sometimes it is just impossible to make such a choice.

Nora does a lot of things I wouldn't want my daughter to do. She is unsupervised the whole book, and this shows in her actions. She constantly gets herself in danger that could easily have been avoided. Luckily, she has one hell of an angel that has made it his goal to try to keep her safe. And he doesn't get a day's rest from his task.

The character that made me smile throughout the book was Nora's best friend Vee. She's always there for her with a cheesy remark. I also liked the fact they always seem be talking about food. At one point Vee actually makes Nora carrying a hot dog on one of their reckless break and enter-missions. This was so absurd it made me laugh just picturing the situation.

I really liked this book. It was nicely paced, enough plot twists to keep you interested and some new characters to spice things up. The only thing that really annoyed me was the cliffhanger ending. Why, oh why do writers always do that to us! Now I have to wait another year until the next part, Tempest, comes out... ...more

Nora. WHAT THE CRAP IS WRONG WITH YOU? Patch, for some reason I love you. Don't destroy that baby cakes. So, back to Nora. Why are you so conflicted and annoying? "Oh I love you Patch! Your my life, never leave me. I HATE YOU Patch! Never touch me again. Oh no what did I do wrong?" Sigh. it's one thing for a person to think that but another thing to read it. I like Patch and Nora. I kinda liked Scott, but the story line was just bleh. I couldn't tell what the main point was, Nora didn't shut up ...more
