I liked the book. It was mind candy. Just what I am looking for sometimes--like now--when I read PNR. Golgothom reminded me of Simon Greens dark side in that the world is within a existing city and really majic made it totally super imaginative. Had its own flavor though. The romance was one I rooted for, but the development was choppy. However development of the charicter of the world and folks was strong enough I still gave it four stars. Liked it, mostly for the world-building. More urban fantasy than I was expecting, given the romance angle, but thats not a bad thing.

I really like the world Collins created, and enjoyed the characters as well. I debated 3.5 or 4 stars, but went with 4 because of the world. The relationship between Hexe and Tate surprised me...it seemed too strong too suddenly at the end of the book. I also felt like Hexe was still too much of an enigma...

However, the series has great potential, and I'll be keeping an eye out for the second book. ...more
