I really enjoyed it - I like Alice's growth as a person, and I like that she doesn't charge off to handle everything alone like a moron, the way so many UF heroines do. She makes a plan, she utilizes her resources, and she wrangles whatever backup is available to her.

Because of that, I got really pissed at Sean in this book. Like, smoking pissed. (view spoiler) I really enjoyed it - I like Alice's growth as a person, and I like that she doesn't charge off to handle everything alone like a moron, the way so many UF heroines do. Fortunately it didn't drag out too long, and Sean took steps towards redeeming himself. But we'll see how he acts from here forward. I honestly like him a lot less now.

And then in the very end, I was also mad at Alice. (view spoiler) So the very end of the book pissed me off, because she was suddenly being a stupid asshole out of the blue.

Still, 4 stars for the story. Just ugh. This dumb shit needs to end. ...more
