Loved it, loved it, loved it!
In real life I'd probably find Sookie annoying. However, being inside her head is fun and she's believable. Anyone who has ever been an outcast and had to struggle to fit in can identify with her. She's also got a hilarious internal monologue going on as she finds herself in dangerous, unbelievable circumstances and faces them matter-of-factly. This is the second in the Southern Vampires series featuring Sookie Stackhouse. It starts with a 'friend' of Sookie turning dead in a police car, then she gets hired by the Dallas vampires to help them find a missing 'brother'. A lot of adventures in both Dallas and Bon Temps with some Eric thrown in.

Fast moving, with many witty and memorable moments, Living Dead in Dallas is a thoroughly enjoyable read. ...more

This one was pretty exciting, but not quite as enjoyable as the first book. I love Bon Temps so much that I resented so much of this one being set outside the city limits. At the same time, it's nice that Charlaine Harris doesn't saddle one small town with more intrigue than it can handle over and over again.
