I wish we could give a book 10 stars because this book was such a great book. I went into this book so unsure. One of my favorite booktubers (Kevin from Irish reader) had me so worried when he fist started this book. He said it kind of dragged for him and I don't know when he was talking about. In the beginning there was a nasty massacre that occurred that ripped my heart out and then there was the angel of death or they used to call him the Shadow of Death. For me this book was like going uphil ...more

In a previous review, I stated that I’d love it if Sarah turned her eye towards adult romance given her talent for writing YA romance. Well. I got my wish. And I’m so glad I did! Because Bryce and Hunt’s story makes for a lovely slow burn enemies to friends to lovers romance. And their chemistry. Whew! This book was hot! The shifting perspectives of characters was an interesting choice, but I didn't find it overly distracting. ...more

That was crazy convoluted. I think the most annoying thing for me an not believing the connection between Hunt and Bryce. I mean, I’ll continue the series, but there are a lot of elements I just have to roll my eyes at…I mean, the whole big deal over the chocolate croissants…🙄These are supposed to be big, bad immortals? Oh well, I guess it’s entertaining in a fashion.

Accidentally read book 2 first (thanks for listing it wrong, random librarian!) Went back and read this and loved it even more. Some tears, but a decently paced story with great characters. Interesting world too.
